Principal factors which influence on the quality of MALDI mass spectrometric data obtained by direct analysis of biological tissue and intact protein have been studied using neat or intact analytes such as bovine milk, porcin liver and intact caseins. For the direct analysis of a porcine liver, several different matrices and solvents have been used to obtain appropriate MALDI and MALDI imaging data.
