To reveal the protein complexes and protein interaction with other molecules such as DNA, organic compounds, or metal ions etc. is very important to understand their structure and function. Native mass spectrometry (Native MS) is a technique that allows measurement of protein complexes in native state. Native MS is normally achieved in combination with electrospray ionization, and has been applied for high-molecular-weight protein complexes with high sensitivity, and is, especially, useful for determining the stoichiometry of components.
