Measurement on Charged Droplets Produced by Electrospray Ionization with Gas Flow Type Ion Trap Ion Mobility System
Charged droplets produced through electrospray ionization play crucial roles not only as ionization promoters but also as special chemical environments. To clarify those droplets, conventional methods such as mass spectrometry, electron microscopy, and light scattering cannot be applied. Ion mobility spectrometry is one of the most promising methods but its low resolution and sensitivity make it difficult to reveal details of them. To overcome, we have developed ion trap ion mobility measurement system with gas flow and have succeeded to measure one to one correspondence between gas flow and drift velocity of droplets. Further results and discussion will be shown in the conference.
