Recently, DESI is commonly used to an IMS. Because, in case of DESI, any sample preparations are not necessary such as a matrix coating for ionization with MALDI. In DESI, ion evaporation from secondary charged droplets is considered to be an important factor for detection sensitivity. Also, in DESI, due to its structure, it is considered that the sample components contaminate to the sampling tube. We have considered that heating of the sampling tube is useful for promoting ion evaporation from the secondary charged droplets and for suppressing contamination of the sampling tube. A prototype of heated sampling tube was fabricated.
