UV detector is widely used in HPLC analysis. However, some compounds have less UV absorption, Refractive Index Detector (RID) and Evaporated Light Scattering Detector (ELSD) have been used as a detector. RID can detect any compounds, but it is low sensitivity and not compatible for gradient elution. ELSD can use gradient elution but it is difficult to detect volatile compounds. Mass spectrometer(MS)is a sensitive and selective detector and it is useful for detection non-UV absorbing compounds. In this study, we analyzed some non-UV absorbing compounds using LC/MS system.
