Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) is improving spatial resolution and measurement throughput toward various fields. Microscope mode MSI is characterized by high spatial resolution and high throughput, but it’s difficult to realize because of requiring advanced technology for the detector. This poster explains a new concept of ultimate higher throughput of MSI. By this concept the measurement time of MSI will be greatly reduced for targeted analysis of large number of samples in which a few target components are contained. First, we checked whether the detection unit was interfering with the spatial resolution when mounted on a microscope mode MSI system.
