Cancer cells are known to alter their metabolism to acquire the drug resistance. The metabolic responses to various respiratory chain inhibitors were compared to obtain the information on the acquisition of drug resistance. The results suggest that the levels of glycolytic flux are enhanced in the response to respiratory chain inhibition. The concentration changes in the TCA cycle intermediates were different depending on the targets of inhibitors.
