The 13C-metablic flux analysis using mass spectrometry was used to investigate metabolic flux distributions in differentiated and non-differentiated HL-60 myeloid leukemia cells. A time course analysis of cell numbers, medium components and 13C-labeling kinetics of the intracellular metabolites confirmed that 13C-MFA could be applied for the immune cells. Flux distributions in the central carbon metabolism suggested that differentiated HL-60 cells shifted the metabolism from glucose to amino acids-dependent.
