Development of a novel solvent-free applying method and application to mass imaging
We have reported various analysis methods using porous structures of DIUTHAME. So far, only solution samples were able to be applied to a DIUTHAME tip. To extend the range of samples available, melting and thermal transfer procedures were introduced. Molten polyphenylene sulfide (an insoluble polymer in common solvents) gave a clear fragment peak corresponding to C6H4S2- ([monomer unit + S]-) in a negative mode. After heating dithranol, desorbed products were caught on a DIUTHAME tip and a characteristic peak was observed clearly. Moreover, this application method was applied to a mass imaging, a clear mass image of drawings was obtained.
