In this study, we demonstrated the end group of analysis of poly(butylene terephthalate)s (PBTs) in electrospray ionization-ion mobility spectrometry-tandem MS (ESI-IMS-MS/MS) with collision-induced charge stripping (CICS). Hydrolyzed PBTs weighing approximately 9 kDa was separated into 8 groups on 2D distribution (m/z-drift time) do to the difference in z values in ESI-IMS-MS, and the end groups of PBTs in each group were successfully identified. For the identification of cyclic oligomers of z =1, it was revealed that the analysis based on the drift time in IMS was effective. PBTs weighing approximately 40 kDa were analyzed in ESI-MS-IMS-CICS-MS, and the identification of the end groups of PBTs weighing approximately 20 kDa and 30 kDa were successfully achieved.
