Quantitative analysis of neuropeptide Y (NPY) was developed by LC-orbitrap mass spectrometry (LC-MS). NPY was so sticky that the carry-over in LC system and non-specific adsorption occurred in the LC-MS system. The metal-free pipes were used in LC system and the optimized matrix solvents with peptide fragments, acids, organic solvents and so on were applied to the sample solvent to hinder the non-specific adsorption of NPY.
