MS-based Analyses of Molecular Dynamics and Pathogenesis: Protein determination, quantitation, quality and beyond.

(Univ. Tokyo)

In our cells, proteins work efficiently to fulfill their physiological function by using their multidimensional features, such as conformational changes, interactions, and complex formations. In addition, the changes of protein quality in disease context have great impacts on their functions. Therefore, precise analysis of protein dynamics and quality can deliver critical insights into the mechanism of their physiological function and pathogenesis. This talk will present the effective approaches to analyze protein conformations, interactions and their qualities in their healthy and disease contexts, with some MS-based studies on microtubule (MT)-related proteins, as examples.
