イオンカウンティング/波形積算同時処理を応用した飛行時間型質量分析計による大気中アルゴン安定同位体の高精度直接測定

High-speed analog-to-digital converters (ADC) equipped with digital averaging firmware, such as field programmable gate arrays (FPGA), have been expanding the concentration range of quantitative analysis. However, digital averaging technology hides low-concentration ions at a level of a few ions or less per acceleration trigger. Such low-level ions can be accurately measured using an ion-counting technique, but such a technique cannot be applied to high-concentration components. We have designed new data-acquisition software that calculates an averaged waveform and ion-counted histogram pair simultaneously on-the-fly from a single-trigger waveform. With this technique, we have achieved simultaneous quantitative analysis for stable isotopes of argon in atmospheric air.
