Analysis of Insoluble Fungicides Using SALDI-MS with Transfer Plates

MALDI-MS is sometimes used for the composition analysis of organic substances that are poorly soluble in water or organic solvents. However, since MALDI-MS uses low-molecular-weight matrix reagents as ionization aids, peaks from reagent-derived ions interfere with components below 500 molecular weights. This presentation introduces a case study evaluating low-molecular-weight, poorly soluble fungicides using SALDI-MS with transfer plates. This technique enables the evaluation of substances that were difficult to analyze using MALDI-MS.
