Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) provides spatially resolved molecular information from biological tissues and functional materials. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) is widely used, but its spatial resolution is typically several micrometers. Time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF‑SIMS) complements MALDI by offering submicrometer resolution for elements and low‑mass molecular ions. This work presents practical workflows for processing high‑spatial‑resolution 2D and 3D TOF‑SIMS datasets in IMAGEREVEAL™ MS, using mouse brain tissue and organic light‑emitting diode (OLED) multilayer films as examples.
