Streamlining Peptide Mapping: From Workflow Automation to Auto-Inspector
(PMI)
oMari Miyamoto, Ayako Kurimoto
Peptide mapping plays a central role in protein analysis for biopharmaceuticals, from early research and development to detailed characterization. While analytical workflows have advanced significantly, validation of results such as PTM identification, sequence variant analysis (SVA), and disulfide bond (S–S) assignments often still requires time-consuming manual inspection. This process can reduce analytical efficiency and introduce variability between analysts. Protein Metrics has developed Byos and Byosphere, peptide mapping solutions designed to streamline these workflows and support automated data review. One of the latest capabilities is Byosphere Auto-Inspector for Peptide Projects, a feature that enables automated validation using user-defined inspection rules. In addition to introducing Auto-Inspector, this seminar will present examples of automation already implemented in peptide mapping workflows, including customer case studies. We will also briefly discuss future directions for automation and the potential for building AI-ready analysis workflows.(Sponsored by RIKAKEN)
