Accurate structure analysis is essential for quality control and safety evaluation. However, direct analysis by mass spectrometry is sometimes difficult for samples with high molecular weight or low solubility. In such cases, the conventional analytical methods cannot always be applied. Therefore, the development of new analytical method is required. In this study, the molecules were partially decomposed by the pretreatment step, and the decomposition products were analyzed using soft ionization mass spectrometry. Specifically, sub-critical fluid decomposition was combined with Direct Inlet Probe/Ion Attachment Ionization Mass Spectrometry (DIP-IA-MS) to enable the structure analysis of samples that are difficult to measure directly.
