酸素付着解離(OAD)-MS/MS機能を搭載したQTOF型質量分析計の開発

Radical-induced dissociation techniques are widely used for organic structure analysis, providing complementary information to low-energy collision-induced dissociation. However, existing methods like electron capture dissociation and electron transfer dissociation have limitations in analyzing small-molecule compounds that primarily produce singly charged ions. We have developed a novel radical-induced dissociation method that can be applied to singly charged ions and both positive/negative ion modes using atomic/molecular-ion reactions with radical sources such as atomic hydrogen, atomic oxygen, and hydroxyl radicals. A QTOF mass spectrometer equipped with oxygen attachment dissociation (OAD-MS/MS) was demonstrated in lipid analysis. This approach enabled the identification of the positions of carbon-carbon double bonds, which are crucial in determining lipid functions. In the presentation, we will also report on the applications of OAD-MS/MS beyond lipid analysis, such as the analysis of alkaloid compounds in foods and natural product.
