植物性鉄キレート化合物の質量分析
Iron is an essential element for all living organisms, but iron in the alkaline soil is in the insoluble form, Fe(OH)3. Poaceae plants have a distinct chelation strategy to efficiently acquire insoluble soil iron using iron-chelating substances such as mugineic acids (MAs), called phytosiderophores. Nicotianamine, a precursor of MAs, transports absorbed iron in plant organisms. Therefore, iron chelators are a research subject with an important role for plants. However, quantitative analysis of phytosiderophore was very difficult due to its iron adsorption properties. Derivatization with 9-fluorenylmethyloxycarbonyl (Fmoc) reagent was effective for quantitative analysis.
