ヒーティングチューブを用いたガス輸送式レーザーアブレーションエレクトロスプレーイオン化法による質量分析イメージングの開発
Intracellular molecular imaging is an important method for the analysis of pharmacokinetics. Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) will be useful for development of new drugs because it enables simultaneous detection of components. Laser ablation electrospray ionization with gas transportation (LAESI-GT) was developed to achieve MSI with a pixel size of 1 µm or less at atmospheric pressure without application of matrix and voltage to sample. LAESI is a combination of laser ablation and electrospray ionization. Imaging of small molecule samples, caffeine showed their distributions at a pixel size of 40 µm for the first time. The LAESI-GT is expected to be applied to high throughput imaging under atmospheric pressure but further improvement in the detection sensitivity is required.
