下水に含まれる揮発性汚染物質のターゲットスクリーニングにおける電界イオン化法と保持指標の有効性評価

Our daily life is based on the use of a variety of chemicals. They may flow into the environment and cause harm to ecology and human. Considering the vast number of chemicals in use, comprehensive analysis would be an effective way to evaluate ecological risk. Previous studies using GC/MS typically used library-recorded electron ionization (EI) mass spectra as an evidence of “identification”. However, this is not always applicable to the analysis of an environmental sample because misidentification often occurs due to coeluting contaminants and inability for EI to obtain a molecular. Therefore, in this study, molecular formula determination of organic pollutants in a raw sewage sample was performed using the combination of field ionization (FI) with EI. We utilized TOFMS instead of a conventional GC-QMS to acquire the accurate mass of a molecular ion or a molecular-related ion. Retention Index (RI) was also utilized to enhance confidence level of identification. As a result, it was suggested that using FI and RI in combination is a successful method to screen contaminants in the sewage sample.
