加速器質量分析における高感度化の原理
Accelerator Mass Spectrometry achieves high sensitivity in nuclide analysis by overcoming two major interferences, from the isobar and from the nearby mass particles. To eliminate isobar interference, AMS can use the ion-material interaction utilizing MeV order kinetic energy gained by the accelerator. For the suppression of the nearby mass interference, a sharpens of beam shape by the acceleration towards the beam-moving direction and the elimination of unwanted particles at the charge exchange system make strong contribution. We would like to consider these phenomena introducing the concept of “ion space”.
