Improvement of the Sample Preparation for the Measurement of Blood Thiosulfate
In the measurement of blood thiosulfate with LC-MS/MS, standard samples for the calibration curve must use a control blood as solvent because blood has matrix effects on the measurement of thiosulfate concentration. Therefore, a lot of control blood is required to create a calibration curve. In this study, the sample preparation was improved using an ultrafiltration, and it was possible to create the calibration curve with distilled water as solvent instead of blood. Though our ultrafiltration method is a simple process for sample preparation, it is very useful for measuring the thiosulfate concentration in blood samples.
