The Handmade and Evaluation of the Emitter Chip for DESI

MALDI is mostly common ionization technique for an imaging mass spectrometry (IMS). Recently, DESI is also used to an IMS. Because, in case of DESI, any sample preparations are not necessary such as a matrix coating for ionization with MALDI. The formation of charged droplets is most important for the ionization of DESI. And the emitter chip so called a fused silica capillary tube plays an important role for the droplet formations. We tried to make our own emitter chip as part of research on high sensitivity of DESI. The evaluation of the handmade emitter chip compare to a commercial one will be reported.
