Imaging mass spectrometry (IMS) can reveal the distribution of drugs and their metabolites on tissue sections. Therefore, it is useful for elucidation of mechanisms of pharmacokinetics, efficacy and toxicity. Although, the IMS technology has evolved remarkably, there are many problems to use of drug discovery research. Particularly, it is difficult to apply to whole-body tissue sections and acquire distribution of compounds that are low sensitivity in tissues. In this study, we attempted acquisition of celecoxib distribution in mouse whole-body tissue sections.
