The lymphatic system consists of lymphatic organs, a conducting network of lymphatic vessels, and the circulating lymph. The primary or central lymphoid tissues generate lymphocytes from immature progenitor cells. The thymus and the bone marrow constitute the primary lymphoid organs involved in the production and early clonal selection of lymphocyte tissues. Here we have analyzed immune systems in terms of metabolites using Imaging Mass Microscope, a matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) imaging mass spectrometry (IMS). In this study, we tried to visualize distribution of metabolites from a whole mount section of adult mouse with MALDI-QIT TOF MS empowered with software that enables data mining and quantification of ions which discriminate different biological states.
