The low-molecular-weight protein and peptide component of tissue includes members of several physiologically important classes, such as cytokines, chemokines, peptide hormones, and neuropeptide. However, method for comparative analysis of peptides intended for a small amount of sample is required to discover biomarker. In this study, we established a method to analyze peptides in detail from a small amount of tissues. The analysis enabled us to identify about 2,500 peptides derived from 921 proteins that include 13 hormone precursor proteins from only 3 mg of mouse brain whole lysate.
