マルチハートカット二次元GPC/RPLC-ESI-QTOF-MSを用いた含塩素縮合型リン系難燃剤V6の不純物同定
V6 (CAS No: 38051-10-4) is a chlorinated organophosphorus oligomer flame retardant, which is largely used in flexible polyurethane form (PUF) of household furnishings and car interiors. Commercial V6 mixtures are known to contain mainly 2,2-bis(chloromethyl)-propane-1,3-diyltetrakis(2-chloroethyl) bisphosphate (BCMP-BCEP) and an impurity (a byproduct of the synthesis) tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP) at concentrations of 4.5−7.5%. In most applications, V6 are used as additives in materials, which allow them to leach out of the material into the surrounding environments easily via volatilization, abrasion, and dissolution. Evidence about the presence and persistence of BCMP-BCEP and TCEP in indoor house dusts and car dusts has been gathered in recent years. Concerns are raised about human exposure to constituents in commercial V6 mixtures. Information on the constituents is crucial for the assessment and prediction of environmental and human health risks posed by V6. However, no definitive information exists for constituents in a commercial V6 mixture. This study was conducted to elucidate the concentrations, molecular formulas and structures of constituents in a commercial V6 mixture. An electrospray ionization (ESI)-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (QTOF-MS) compatible with multiple heart-cutting two-dimensional gel permeation chromatography (GPC)/reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC) method was applied for concentration, elemental and structural composition investigations.
