Desorption Ionization Using Through Hole Alumina Membrane (DIUTHAME), novel matrix-free ionization method, was investigated for the analysis of bio-molecules especially imaging mass spectrometry using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS).
