揮発性有機化合物の一括直接測定のためのプロトン付加反応イオン源を用いたマルチターン飛行時間型質量分析の開発

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are released into the atmosphere through the combustion of fossil fuels and biological processes. In the atmosphere, they are chemically altered by oxidation / photodecomposition induced by atmospheric radicals and sunlight. As a result, VOCs cause photochemical smog and produce atmospheric organic aerosols, and thus have a great influence on the atmospheric and global environment. A wide variety of VOCs and their reaction products are mixed in the atmosphere due to complicated and secondary chemical alteration in the atmosphere as well as various emission sources. In this study, we aimed to measure comprehensive list of VOCs, including undetected and unidentified VOCs, without pretreatment and pre-separation. We developed PTR-MULTUM with a proton transfer reaction (PTR) ion source and multi-turn time-of-flight mass spectrometer (MULTUM) which have high mass resolution and its performance was tested.
