SCiLS Lab & SCiLS Cloud: Software for Mass Spectrometry Imaging

Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) is a spatially-resolved bioanalytical technique detecting proteins, peptides, metabolites, lipids and small molecules directly from tissue. Due to the information-rich and tremendously large MSI data, efficient bioinformatics solutions are needed. The questions in this context are how to find essential spatial patterns, how to mine data in the context of large studies, and how to share data between collaborators.
Regardless of the mass spectrometer vendor, SCiLS Lab is your tool of choice for answering these questions with workflows for both biomarker discovery and drug development. Untargeted analysis is guided by spatial segmentation of MSI data to find co-localized m/z values and comparative analysis for uncovering discriminative m/z markers. Targeted research questions are answered with methods for statistically expressing penetration in both qualitative and quantitative terms, and for quantification of target molecules.
SCiLS Lab sets new standards in analysis and visualization, simplifying everyday work and boosting research. Our new web-based service SCiLS Cloud complements the day-to-day challenges by enabling to upload and share data, results and insights between collaborators.
