貫通孔ポーラスアルミナ薄膜を用いたレーザー脱離イオン化法DIUTHAMEの特長と適用事例

We have invented a novel matrix-free laser desorption/ionization method, Desorption Ionization Using Through Hole Alumina Membrane (DIUTHAME). The fabricated membrane has a 2D ordered structure consisting of closely aligned straight through holes with sub-micrometer diameters and the resultant aperture ratio reaches to ca. 50%. DIUTHAME has been tested for several samples including biological tissue sections by using commercial MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers. DIUTHAME shows the ability to conduct imaging mass spectrometry and should be useful for cases that an application requires an easier operation than MALDI or an application deals difficult samples to be measured by MALDI.
