In order to revise the present definition of the kilogram, the only SI base unit still defined by a material artefact, the Planck constant has been determined accurately by the x-ray crystal density (XRCD) method. Using the data and some other results determined by the Kibble (watt) balance method, the CODATA Task Group on Fundamental Constants (TGFC) published fixed values of the fundamental constants to change the definition of the kilogram, ampere, kelvin and mole using the Planck constant h, the elementary charge e, the Boltzmann constant k and the Avogadro constant NA, respectively. The new definition of the kilogram based on the Planck constant opens a new way to measure very small masses using electrical methods. This document briefly provides the results of the special adjustment of the fundamental constants published by the CODATA TGFC, and innovative technologies for the small mass measurement.
