Naphthoic Acid Series as Matrix for MALDI MS Analysis
Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI MS) is powerful tools for the analysis of protein and synthetic polymer. Although a lot of matrices were developed and synthesized by many researchers, the analyst’s choice of matrix strongly depends on the analytical performance in the MALDI MS. In addition, it is difficult to understand all the mechanism of desorption and ionization processes in MALDI at present. In this study, we report the positive ion MALDI mass spectra of cytochrome c obtained with naphthoic acid series as matrix.
