Investigation of rapid metabolome analysis using nano-flow injection ESI/Q-TOFMS

Although LC/MS/MS or LC/Q-TOFMS are generally used for metabolome analysis, problems like low reproducibility still remain that are mainly caused by matrix effects. LC also requires separation time, resulting in low efficiency of analytical transaction. Thus, flow injection analysis (FIA) with MS/MS or Q-TOFMS have recently been applied to metabolome analysis for its relatively higher repeatability and time efficiency. Since it is easily expected that sensitivity can be improved by scaling-down the FIA flow rate, we investigated in the rapid and sensitive screening method of 22 target metabolites using nano-flow injection ESI with Q-TOFMS in this study.
