Bile acids are cholesterol-derivatives and are synthesized in the liver. They have several isomeric structures, therefore analysis of these compounds is based on only the each retention times. Ion mobility (IM) is known as the technology to separate ions by shape, charge, and size of them, then we show the separation of primary bile acid, chenodeoxycholic acid (CDC) and secondary bile acid, hyodeoxycholic acid (HDC) by 6560 IM-QTOF mass spectrometer coupled with 1290 Infinity UHPLC. IM-MS can achieve the rotationally averaged collisional cross-section (CCS) information, and it derived confident and enhanced specificity.
