The [M-H ̇-H]- ions of dihydroxybenzoic acids were calculated by quantum chemical calculation, and it was suggested that the [M-H ̇-H]- ions were generated through the [M-H]- ion as an intermediate by two-steps in negative-mode MALDI-MS.
