Development of a high sensitive simultaneous analysis method for eicosanoids using LC-MS/MS by derivatization of carboxylic group

The eicosanoids play an important role in inflammation/anti-inflammation. The multi-target analysis of these from a small quantities of sample are needed for understanding not only disease mechanism but efficacy and toxicity of drugs. We have developed a sensitive simultaneous assay method for eicosanoids by derivatization of carboxylic group in eicosanoids into amide under mild condition by using DMT-MM. This method can detect 30 eicosanoids from 100 micro-L of plasma. We introduce the detail of our new method with practical examples in mice.
