Study on Alizarin complexone(ALC)-lanthanide(Ⅲ) Fluoride system by ESI/MS

The ESI/MS spectra revealed the formations of La-ALC as (La-ALC)n; n=4～6. Only the (La-ALC)4 complex was able to react with fluoride ions to produce (La-ALC)4-LaFm; m=1～2. Under existence of fluoride ions the complexes of n=5 and 6 may change to that of n=4 for equilibrium.
