Considerations of Standard Operating Procedure for Drug Imaging Mass Spectrometry

(Osaka Univ.)
oShuichi Shimma

Imaging mass spectrometry for pharmaceutical application is in a period of transition stage. The aims of IMS in pharmacology are pharmacokinetic evaluation, toxicological evaluation using drug metabolite visualization and so on. Although IMS technique is established as a novel analytical methodology, there are a lot of barriers to overcome. Therefore, standard operating procedure and evaluation tolerance are desired to realize truly applicable technique. In this poster, the known problems in sample preparations will be summarized, and the effects to obtained mass spectra and trouble-shootings will be explained. In addition, quantitative IMS methodology for pharmaceutical applications is presented.
