Towards understanding of unexpected mass spectra: dissection based on ionization mechanism
We are occasionally confused by obtaining "unexpected" mass spectra, even if we use commercial instruments and follow well established experimental protocols that are supposed to be appropriate for the analyses. In this session, we will select some case studies and dissect such unexpected mass spectra that are difficult to interpret based on manuals. Basic knowledge on physicochemical ionization mechanisms would help us solve many problems encountered in mass spec labs.
