oTsutomu Masujima

The new technology for ultra-trace single cell mass spectrometric detection was developed. After many challenges in vein, including single cell MALDI-TOF/MS, ultra-trace of live single cell content was sucked by nanospray tip under microscopic observation and was fed directly to mass spectrometer by nanospray ionization after adding ionization solvent. Thousand of molecular peaks of small molecules are successfully detected even single organelle level and its data analyses method was also developed. We hope this method opens new era of single cell biology.
