Recently, a neurotransmitter and one of the peptide hormones, Oxytocin, has been noted that there is a function to regulate social behavior. In this report, serotonin related to oxytocin and working as the neurotransmitter of melatonin was studied. The serotonin included in a body fluid sample was determined by LC-MS/MS method with an HPLC column CAPCELL CORE ADME which is packed with a novel packing material modified by adamantyl functional group. As the result, the CAPCELL CORE ADME provided increased retention to the highly hydrophilic serotonin and better separation with the matrix in the bio fluid sample because of its medium hydrophobicity and extra-high surface polarity. It is suggested that CAPCELL CORE ADME will provide improved LC-MS/MS by avoiding the suppression from the sample matrix.
