Scorpion venom contains antimicrobial peptides besides neurotoxins. In this study, we searched for antimicrobial peptides from the venom of the scorpion Isometrus maculatus based on the structural feature. Primary structures of the peptides were determined by de novo sequencing using both low-energy and high-energy collision-induced dissociation, with a support of the genetic information. As a result of sequence similarity search, the peptides obtained in this study are likely to have antimicrobial property.
