Live Single-Cell MS method enables us to detect not only spectra of a single cell but also of a single organelle. The conventional methods for metabolomics need a lot of cells and obtained data are spatially averaged data. Information of cells’ individuality was lost in this case. Mitochondria take the central role in not only producing almost of all energy in a cell, but also controlling apoptosis and then good target to check the toxicity of the drug. In this study, we report the applying of the Live Single-Cell MS method to mitochondria in a living HepG2 cell.
