Imaging of ganglioside GM2 and GA2 in the brain of GM2 gangliosidosis model mice using imaging mass spectrometry
Distribution of ganglioside species, GM2 and GA2, in a brain of gangliosidosis model mouse were analyzed using imaging mass spectrometry. Accumulation of GM2 (36:1) and GA2 (36:1) were successfully revealed. Their distributions associated with the anatomical structure of cerebellum and hippocampus proposed that the accumulation plays a key to pathology of gangliosidoses.
