Characterization of POE-POP Alkyl Ether using LC-MS/MS
Polyoxyethylene (POE) -polyoxypropylene (POP) alkyl ether is one of the most popular nonionic surfactants. Liquid chromatography at the critical condition (LCCC) has been used to separate each propylene oxide (PO) block of ethylene oxide (EO) / PO copolymers. We report we could separate each PO block of POE-POP alkyl ether by the LCCC and obtain satisfactory information on both the length and chemical structure of the alkyl chain, EO and PO block by ESI-MS/MS.
