In the process of optimizing the chemical structure toward a potential drug candidate, HTS metabolic stability is one of primary screenings. It is general to evaluate the structural–activity relationship (SAR) for metabolic stability to design more stable structures, but we need to assay many compounds in structural series. On another approach, the metabolite identification gives us more direct information on metabolic parts of tested compound, which will contribute to efficient drug design. To conduct the metabolite identification in the early stages of drug discovery, we established a rapid and simple method for metabolite identification by utilization of HTS metabolic stability samples.
