Environmental Analysis by Liquid Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry

(Chubu Univ.)
oShigeru Suzuki

The most of the analytical methods titled above have been developed by the people studying on the Environmental Survey and Monitoring of Chemicals (Ministry of the Environment, Government of Japan). Generally, the environmental chemicals are varied in physic-chemical properties, are lower in concentration, and co-exist with species that may affect on the recoveries or sensitivities of them. The methods for preparing samples, the factors affecting ionization efficiency of an analyte, and the results of some environmental analyses are presented. In the presentation, the recent developments and the expected next steps of the analyses, i.e. a provisional method of the non-target analysis by using a fragmentation data base, and a micro-LC/MS for the environmental analyses are also discussed.
