Direct Analysis and Identification Techniques for Semisolids and Solids using DART-MS

Thermal controlled DART-MS (Fig.1) and Ultrasonic mist DART-MS (Fig.2) were applied to measuring solid samples such as plastics and semisolid samples such as creams and lotions, respectively. Though the assignment of ingredients in the spectrum derived from mixture was time consuming process, some ingredients were rapidly identified using the search program developed for mixture analysis. We show the application data using these techniques, and discuss about the problem and the solution.
